Our church publishes an annual report every year that chronicles what we did the year before. I have a love/hate relationship with this because it's kind of tedious to go back and try to remember everything and comment on it. On the other hand, it's helpful to remember what we did or didn't do as we look at the year ahead and think about our plans and goals for the future.
What if we had to write an annual report on our lives? We would look back and see what we have accomplished, and then look ahead to see what we want to achieve in the coming year. Would you be dismayed at how little progress you made or encouraged by how far you've come? If it's anything like our church annual reports it would probably be a little of both.
